Heroscape Board Game Review

Heroscape has quickly become one of my favorite table top games and game franchises of all time. I purchased it because of the modular terrain and i recognized the style of dice from other games i have played.

Let’s see if the game is longer than the setup! Arena of the planeswalkers is a tactical miniatures board game with simple rules and a touch of a magic the gathering theme. Each scenario has a diferent goal, ranging from trying to defeat all enemies to trying to hold a position on the map for a turn.

First, the box is much sturdier, more like a typical board game box compared to the heroscape master sets. Once you open the box you will find a tray insert with the miniatures, spell cards, and dice. They are 28mm scale, so they should be perfect to add to heroscape.

It is a very fun, very addictive game that (i think) i have played in excess of 100 times. And for those of you that know me by now, i generally float towards niche, euro, odd or alternative board games. Review of heroscape powered by the slant community.

Unfortunately, it will be pretty hard for new players to get in, as the game is no longer in production. What the box doesn’t tell you is that the rules are almost exactly those of (and mostly compatible with) heroscape, a game that wotc discontinued in 2010. My son already had the original heroscape set,but he loves marvel superheroes, so when we saw this, we just had to get it for him.it can be used seperately, or put together with the original, for extremely expanded play.the pieces are sturdy, and durable,the set up is amazing,and the characters really look like the superheroes and villains they're supposed to be.my son absolutely loves it.as a matter of fact,. Firstly, players construct the playing surface out of hexagonal tiles and choose a scenario to play. The miniatures in this game are very well done, like those of a more advanced miniature war game.
